It's Almost Over, Except For The Baseball

I can’t believe summer is almost over.  It’s so depressing.

I know I shouldn’t complain considering all we did this summer with the two vacations, the many beach days and my killer tan.  But even so, I just wish it could last another two months (and before anyone can say it, moving to Florida is not an option).

The only bad thing about summer is baseball.  And that shit is always on.  Every. Freaking. Night.

It seems there is always another one of those mind numbing games on tv.  If only the summer season could last as long as the baseball season, then perhaps I wouldn’t mind it so much.  But knowing that in a few more weeks, my long sweet summer days and nights will end and the only thing left will be fly balls and extra innings…

Blah on that.

And yet, summer leads to fall.  I actually like fall with its billiant colors, brisk breezes, football games and new sweaters to wear.  At the very least, it keeps winter away for a few more month and for that I will always be grateful for fall.

What’s your favorite time of the year?

I have a theory that everyone loves the season in which they were born. This held true for many years: being a Cancer, I loved summer - the lack of school, the heat, the popsicles, the swimming pool. But now I'm older and find the summer heat to be oppressive, and I don't want to appear in a bathing suit, which kind of negates jumping in the pool. So now I think I love spring best, followed closely by fall. Summer has slipped to third place.
