Lately

Lately, I have been reading a lot more this year than I have for many years.  That was my 2009 new year’s resolution and I am happy to report that I actually kept to a resolution for a change. (I think I can safely say that since it is already October) Some of the good books I read recently include, The Little Book, The Thirteenth Tale, World Without End and Lisey’s Story.

Since I started reading again, I have reinstated my old review blog My Two Cents.  I use to write about movies I watched and books I read there in the past, then it kinda slipped away.  So now it’s back and I have already put in my 2 cents for some of the books I read this year.  I think my 2010 New Year’s resolution will be to join a physical book club.  If you live in the area and you know any book clubs, please let me know.

And lately, I have been getting requests to review products, websites and the like, just like many other bloggers.  So, I decided my old review blog would be a great place to to do those sort of reviews too.  I just put my first product review up for The Hookup, which is a nifty item that was given to me to try out and I loved it (thank goodness or that would have sucked!).  Check it out if you have ever struggled with where to hang your purse when out in public.

What else has been going on lately? Oh yeah, I took down the BlogHer ads. It was getting a little too much because they were yelling at me to post when I didn’t feel like posting or didn’t have the time, so I removed it.  (Note: They were actually very nice about it and I will miss having someone check in on me every so often, asking me if everything is alright).

Anything else?  Well, yeah actually.  I have added a few new blogs to my blogroll.  Some of my new reads are (and forgive me if I missed anyone)  A Sacred Friendship, fever, Life with Kaishon, Gwen Alison Wonderland, Barbar Peapod, Well Read Hostess, Keeping My Head Above Water, The Domestic Goddess, Lemonade & Kidneys, Mothers of Brothers, The New Girl, Scary Mommy.  Loving it! Especially since I  met some of these cool women in person, it makes reading their blogs that much more real, you know?

Speaking of blogrolls, lately I’ve been using Google Reader instead of bloglines.  Have you noticed my nice new blogroll over there ——> (or is it down there? Down and over a bit? Way, way down there?).  If you don’t see your blog listed, let me know.  I am slowing migrating all my blogs over to reader so a nudge is just what I need.

Well that’s what I’ve been up to lately as far as me and this here little blog go. Getting back into the swing of things while still debating every so often whether to just hit the “delete blog” button and be done with it all.

I've never been to a BlogHer.

I don't get any free sh*t for reviewing products.
Man, I'd like to review a new roof right now... and a new SUV....and about $500 worth of grocery products....

I'm just sayin'...

Aw, thanks for the linky love! I need to update my blogroll, too. It's embarrassing.

good for you to drop BlogHer. Ad Free baby!!! Be your own person that yells at you!

Thanks for the link! I've given up on a blogroll, I am swamped by my Google Reader but I'm okay with that!
