Leaping Lizards
Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 05:30PM Walking home from church today:
Me: Did you enjoy mass today, Piper?
Piper: Yes.
Me: What did you like most?
Piper: The music.
Me: Yes, I can tell you like the singing.
Piper: Yeah. I like the singing best.
Me: And you are a wonderful singer. You have a beautiful voice, sweetie!
Piper: I know.
Me: But honey?
Piper: Yeah, mommy?
Me: The song is actually Hosanna. Can you say “Ho-san-na”?
Piper: Ho-san-a.
Me: Good! That’s right! You see, the song is actually Hosanna in The Highest. Not iguana in the highest.
Piper: But I like iguana better.

Oh my goodness! I love it! My daugther thought a song I would always sing to her was "We will live in peas" instead of "We will live in peace." And when I would correct her when she'd sing along she'd say the same thing. "But Mom, you KNOW I love peas."
that is so sweet.........and she will probably start singing hosanna while thinking iguana;))
@Jane: LOL!! Reminds me of that "whirled peas" bumper sticker which always cracks me up!
@Humorworks: You are probably right. To this day I cannot say the Our Father without envisioning a loaf of Wonder bread ("and give us this day our daily bread..."). Polka dots and all.
I can just hear her singing about the iguana. Too cute!
